Bike Hotel Arlberg

Bike Hotel Lech | The Bike-Gene

If you pass Oma Rosa's photo in the stairwell, one thing becomes clear: the love for the mountain is genetic. In summer, the boards and planks get traded for wheels. Vinzenz inherited the Radgen directly from the boss. While Andreas grazes the Arlberg on his e-bike about a hundred times over, Vinzenz seeks the direct path down and up via downhill and enduro lines. Biking at Hotel Lech isn't a programme item. It's summer being. A bike hotel at the Arlberg doesn't live from brochures, but from people who genuinely know the mountain.

That's precisely the difference: here you talk shop properly, drink chain oil, and discuss lines, lactate, and favourite climbs.

Schneefräsn | When Vinzi Reprogrammes Winter

Bike Hotel Arlberg | MTB, Road, E-Bike

April in Lech is typically reserved for spring corn snow and the last turns. Typically. But because Vinzi can't function without a bike even in winter, we simply rethought things and launched the MTB Trophy - Kenda Schneefräsn powered by LINES Magazine. Where skiers normally carve their radii at the Hinterwieslift, the Schneefräsn Cup ploughs through the slalom gates in April. Naturally, on bikes.

It's a slalom race of a special kind: two runs down the steep ski piste, full concentration required. But it's not the absolute fastest time that wins. It's precision. Whoever can repeat their own time most accurately wins. Maximum control, total focus, and mountain bike action on white terrain. Very Lech.

The Lab | The Workshop

The bike room is actually a workshop. Vinzenz can get pretty much anything running again that the mountain has demanded of it, from gears and brakes to morale. Lockable room, professional tools, map materials, and secret tips from Vinzenz himself make Hotel Lech a bike hotel in the Alps that doesn't just offer storage spaces, but genuine bike competence.

And after the final loop? Replenish electrolytes so the quads are ready for "one last little round". And when absolutely nothing works anymore, you talk shop over a glass of wine, beer, or Radler. That's what a bike holiday in Lech am Arlberg looks like.

Bike Adventures in Lech am Arlberg: Up and Down, Again and Again

Lech sits exactly where valleys meet and mountain passes tell stories: a junction between Vorarlberg, Tirol, the Lechtal, and the Bregenzerwald. Asphalt, gravel, root carpets, alpine forest roads, enduro lines, flow trails, and scenic vertical metres all lie side by side here.

The Arlberg in summer, the No-Snow season, is just as seductive as in the Snow season. A network of trails from asphalt to alpine heights. Lech, Zug, Oberlech, Bürstegg, Formarinsee, Spullersee, Kriegerhorn, Flexenpass, and the routes toward Warth or into the Zug Valley. The possibilities are endless.

The best part: all trails start directly from the doorstep of the bike hotel at the Arlberg. Very Lech. On two wheels.

Vinzi & Andreas' Territory | Bike Tours Around Lech am Arlberg

Biking in Lech am Arlberg — why not? Andreas, the senior boss, and Vinzenz, his son, are one with their two wheels. Here's a small, fine collection of their favourite tours around the Arlberg — curated by two riders who would happily take their bikes to bed.

Karhorn Loop | Andreas' Favourite

Over Bürstegg and the Steffisalp up to the Hochalphütte — this is Andreas' personal favourite loop. Plenty of landscape, plenty of peace, and eventually — after some intense moments — back to Hotel Lech. A tour for everyone who doesn't just want to collect vertical metres during their bike holiday at the Arlberg, but wants to feel genuine alpine expanse. A classic right from the doorstep that shows why Hotel Lech, as a bike hotel in Vorarlberg, is so deeply rooted in the mountains.

Spullersee Loop | Soul Tour

Around 30 kilometres and 400 vertical metres — this is the "soul tour" at Hotel Lech, the bike hotel in Vorarlberg. A moderate mountain bike loop with plenty of soul food. The route leads through the beautiful Zug Valley up to Spullersee, a sparkling sapphire amidst the Arlberg mountains.

Burgwald Trail | Forest Airtime

Vinzi's second living room. The Burgwald Trail was the first official freeride and enduro route in Vorarlberg. Flow, berms, wooden elements, and if you like, airtime too.

Formarinsee | Austria's Most Beautiful Place

Officially one of the big names in the region and for many, simply a must. Around 15 kilometres and 425 vertical metres lead to a place that wasn't voted Austria's most beautiful spot by accident. If you've still got strength left afterwards, tack on the Freiburger Hütte. An absolute pleasure must for any bike holiday in Lech am Arlberg.

Kriegerhorn | The View Reward

Around 13 kilometres and 550 vertical metres up to 2,149 metres. Via Oberlech and the Grubenalpe up to a view that justifies the panting. Carrot and stick: muscle building with mountain panorama.

Bike & Hike | An Alpine Liaison

Sometimes the bike simply has to stay down below - even if it hurts a little. That's what bike & hike is for: the liaison between clipless pedals, calf power, and Arlberg summit bliss. Around Lech am Arlberg, the liaison possibilities are limitless.

Saladinaspitze 2,238 m

First, ride relaxed toward Freiburger Hütte, then change shoes. The path up to Saladinaspitze is alpine, exposed, and beautiful. From up there you look over all of Vorarlberg and onto the Lechquellen mountains.

Roggelskopf 2,284 m

A tour for everyone who doesn't just want to see the Arlberg, but feel it. The Roggelskopf stands prominently above the Klostertal and offers a view down that briefly catches even seasoned riders' breath.

Formarin Loop & Formaletsch | Stone Sea

An excursion into the Zug Valley to Formarinsee, further into alpine terrain. The loop around the Formaletsch and crossing through the stone sea are impressive.

Asphalt Love | Collecting Mountain Passes

Lech sits not only in the heart of the mountains, but exactly between the passes that have been writing stories in road cycling circles for decades. Flexenpass, Arlbergpass, Hahntennjoch, Silvretta — all reachable, all combinable. Anyone who starts here rarely has just one option. More like the agony of choice between Vorarlberg, Tirol, Bregenzerwald, and Lechtal. Asphalt instead of gravel, rhythm instead of root carpets, but just as demanding.

Arlberg Giro

150 kilometres, 2,600 vertical metres. Flexenpass, Arlbergpass, long climbs, fast descents. A loop that isn't discussed, but ridden. Once a year as a race, otherwise as a self test.

Hahntennjoch & Silvretta

Two names that suffice. Either as a big loop between Vorarlberg and Tirol or as an excursion into the Montafon. Long climbs, little distraction, plenty of focus. Whoever rides here knows pretty exactly where they stand afterwards.

Bodensee Tour

99 kilometres, 877 vertical metres. Less high alpine, but far. A loop for letting things roll, for sorting out the legs, for breathing through. Lake Constance as counterpoint to the Arlberg - flatter, more open, but with its own dynamic.

Après Bike

When the bike is safely stowed in the workshop, the comfortable part begins. Replenish carbohydrates, put the legs up, and review the day. The breakfast buffet the next morning is law and ensures the quads are ready for new misdeeds. And if the muscles do strike: the sauna at Hotel Lech, the bike hotel in Vorarlberg, works true wonders.

That's how a day in a bike holiday in Lech am Arlberg ends: with lactate in the legs, stories in the head, and the quiet feeling that tomorrow could handle another loop. Very Lech.

Refining. For you.
Big things are underway.

A new website. A new logo. Fully refurbished rooms.
2026 is taking shape.

Things are being taken apart, drilled into, rebuilt. Then built again. And yes, even hung.
A complete revamp of nine rooms.

Oak floors. Underfloor heating. Colour.
Wingi’s design, with a touch of mischief.

Which also means the house remains unfortunately closed this summer.

We are, however, very much here. Always.
For bookings. For questions. For a lovely conversation, gladly. A phone call always works. Emails too.

As soon as the last craftsman has packed up and the snow settles and stays, the doors open again.
Most likely blissfully free of construction debris by then.
